Crafting Organic Sourdough Breads and Baked Goods

From our oven to your table, Rise and Knead Bakery crafts organic sourdough breads and baked goods filled with warmth and flavor. Located in Cumming, Georgia, Rise and Knead began in 2024 as a small non-profit bakery founded by Mark Barry.

As the bakery grew, Mark’s son-in-law, Dragan Marjanovic, stepped in to carry the vision forward, transforming the operation into Rise and Knead LLC and expanding it into a larger-scale family-run business. Alongside his daughter, Meagan Marjanovic, Dragan continues to build on the foundation that Mark created.

After passing down his sourdough knowledge and passion for baking, Mark stepped back, leaving the bakery in the hands of Dragan and Meagan, who now proudly own and operate Rise and Knead as a growing family business dedicated to quality, tradition, and community.

Organic Ingredients

At Rise and Knead Bakery, we believe great bread begins with great ingredients. That is why we prioritize high quality organic ingredients whenever possible and partner with trusted local and organic vendors. By carefully selecting what goes into our dough, we create sourdough breads and baked goods that are full of flavor and made with simple, wholesome ingredients our customers can feel good about.

We work with regional wheat and flour suppliers and incorporate locally sourced grains whenever possible, including stone milled wheat. Stone milling preserves more of the natural nutrients and flavor of the grain, helping produce bread with deeper taste, better texture, and a more traditional character.

Our sourdough is naturally fermented and finished with mineral rich sea salt from Baja Gold Salt Co., known for its naturally occurring trace minerals and clean ocean sourced quality. By supporting responsible suppliers and focusing on quality ingredients, we are proud to bring better bread and baked goods to our community.
